In 2021, we brought another breeding potential into our home, Shadygrove’s Begin a New Ballad, Lyric. Lyric comes from a long line of show champions and healthy, beautiful dogs on her mom, Reba’s, side. Her father, Indigo, won the Leonberger Club of America’s National Specialty in 2023, but alongside that, he is a therapy dog with a gentle spirit. These are some of the reasons we were thrilled to be able to select the pick female puppy from the Reba and Indigo breeding.

We chose Lyric out of her large litter because she was a puppy who was confident and sweet, and we could not be happier with our choice. As she has matured into an adult, Lyric has been an absolute joy. She is a dog who makes us laugh every single day with her antics – she loves to use her talking dog buttons on a daily basis! She is also a dog who can move, with a national #11 placement in FastCAT for 2023, and she is a dog who is stable and gentle enough to have certified as a Go Team therapy and crisis response dog. She has passed all her health testing with flying colors. Lyric as attained multiple titles, including an advanced versatility title.

Lyric has had two litters of puppies… her first on June 29th, 2024 (her own birthday!) and her second on Cinco de Mayo, 2026.

We have plans to breed Lyric for a third and final time 2026/2027.
